Grandpa Tree / 2010
The Granpa Tree is a children book that I wrote with Kuerkamol Niyom and illustrated the colorful pencil color to tell story about the big tree. In Thailand, we called a very old and venerable thing as "Poo" which means granpa and a tree as "Ton Mai". As we respect this tree as one of our family so we called this tree "Poo Ton Mai"or "Granpa Tree".
"Grandpa Tree" (ปู่ต้นไม้) is a children book that tells a story about a venerable Grandpa Tree stand still at the beach for years. He play an important role in the village as both physical and spiritual aspect. One day gigantic tsunami splash all over shore. The tree fall down...but then he try to survive and found himself in the new way of life.
I try to use very simple methods to achieve visual communication. Focus on the craftsmanship not fancy equipments.
